All Stars for Autism Presents

City of Joondalup Carers Community Outreach Program

With the support of the City of Joondalup, All Stars for Autism will be enhancing the lives of Carers over a two year period, starting in February 2023. During this time, we will support the health, wellbeing, inclusion and connection to community of Carers within the City of Joondalup in three ways;

Wellbeing Workshops: Facilitating Community Connections and Supporting Positive Lifestyle Practices.

We will deliver 8 workshops over a two-year period, enabling Carers to explore self-care practices, including yin yoga and meditation, delivered by Paul Brown. We will also host Art Therapy activities, facilitated by Larah Cornthwaite. Places are limited to four people per workshop and will take place during the School Term (1 per term, 5 hour workshop). Lunch and all materials will be provided.

Fostering Community Spirit Forum: Inspiring Community Connectedness and Social Participation.

We will deliver two Forums over a two-year period, bringing together inspirational speakers, Claire Paterson and Dr Gemma Foxall, in a Q&A Forum, hosted by Tim McMillan. The Forum will also provide opportunities for peer networking and will remove barriers to access, by providing a supportive and safe environment for Carers to bring their family members to the event. Lunch will be provided on the day.

Creating a Safe Virtual Community Space for Carers.

We will provide access to evidence-based resources and best-practice advice for ongoing self-care and connection.

Who can participate: The Wellbeing Workshops are accessible to Carers of current All Stars participants. Forums are open to all Carers within the Joondalup Area.
